The members of the Westie Club of the South, Inc. are a fun loving group of individuals and families who have a passion for the West Highland White Terrier.We celebrate this feisty breed in a variety of fun and important ways.
We welcome westie lovers who participate in conformation, obedience, agility, earth dog, pet therapy, and any and all other canine activities and events.We also welcome those who have chosen this beautiful breed as a pet for companionship, making them a member of their family.
We are dedicated to educating the public about the characteristics of the West Highland White Terrier and we emphasize the importance of making an informed decision when choosing this breed.It is also important to us to continue this education process through presentations at our meetings and informative articles in our newsletter, Westie Tales.We provide information to our members on such subjects as health, nutrition, breeding, and activities that you and your westie can participate in, among other topics.
We also believe in and promote responsible breeding.
Westie Rescue
Many of our members participate in rescuing westies through visiting with westie rescue applicants, fostering westies and transporting westies to vet visits and their new “furever” homes.This is done as a service provided by the Westie Club of the South, Inc., through the Atlanta Westie Rescue Committee.
Meetings
We are located in Marietta, GA and we are proud to say that we have members in Georgia and several other states.Our Club meets six times a year, and our meetings usually include our beloved westies.In addition to meetings with fun and educational activities, we also have an annual “Howloween” party with a westie costume contest, a “Snow Ball” in December and a Banquet and Fundraising Auction for Westie Rescue in June.
We welcome all responsible, loving westie owners and their families to join us as members.We also welcome inquires from those who find themselves in the position of having to give up their westies, and from those who are looking to find a westie through a breeder or through a rescue.
